Thermal Desorption is a Technology to treat soil contaminated with Hydrocarbons or Dangerous Wastes, heating it’s to a temperature from 100ºC to 550ºC in order to evaporate (turned into Gases) the pollutant materials of low point of boiling, such as the Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs), and the Volatile Metal like the Mercury (Hg) and may be separated from the soil to decontaminate. The vaporized pollutant material are picked up and treated, with a Gas Cleaning System, accurate for the pollutant materials existing. Thermal Desorption is different from the Thermal Destruction because, apart from operating in a low temperature, it uses Heat to separate pollutant elements from the soil to be treated, only. Thermal Destruction uses high Temperature trying to destroy the pollutant material. It is about Equipment built under British License especially suitable for Thermal Desorption with Primary Rotary Chamber, designed to carry out the treatment of the product needing to the remediation, during 24 hs continuously, including continuous download of the treated product, which may be given back to the place free of pollutants. It is typified by the Primary Horizontal and Rotary Chamber, in which it is possible vary as the operation temperature as the rotary speed in order to be adapted to the content of pollutant that must be separated from waste treated. May be equipped with Sophisticated Control Systems, Secondary Chamber of large volume Gases Treatment and Cleaning Equipment, Catalytic and Non Catalytic, in Dry or Wet Way, according to waste characteristics and according to the Gases Emission Standards established by Environmental Authorities of each Region.

THERMAL DESORPTION OF HIGH TEMPERATURE- DIRECT HEATING

Work Temperature is between 320ºC and 550ºC. All substances described before, may be treated; Also, Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAH) like Anthracene, Benzopyrene, Naphthacene, Phenanthrene, etc. Besides, pesticides and Volatile High Metals like Mercury (Hg).

THERMAL DESORPTION OF LOW TEMPERATURE- INDIRECT HEATING

Work Temperature is between 90ºC and 320ºC, which is suitable for volatilizing Non Halogen Organic Compounds, Fuels and some Semi Volatile, when these are present in the soil to be treated. In fact, with the Thermal Desorption of Low Temperature soil keeps its physical properties and its organic components, which allow it, preserve the capability to bear future biological activities without any added component for improving it.
